Which UK jobs offer visa sponsorship in 2026?
The main route is the Skilled Worker visa, plus the Health and Care Worker visa for eligible care and nursing roles. Sponsored jobs are commonly available for healthcare assistants, registered nurses, software engineers, IT support, civil engineers, electricians, chefs, and care-home managers. To be eligible, the role must be on the Home Office's list of eligible occupations, normally at RQF Level 3 or above, and the employer must hold a valid sponsor licence. The salary must also meet the 'going rate' for that occupation code.
How do I find a UK employer with a sponsor licence?
Start with the Home Office Register of Licensed Sponsors, which is updated daily and lists every UK employer approved to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship. You can also search licensed-recruiter job boards, or apply through Gobblex Recruiter — we only advertise roles from employers on that register, so every vacancy we send you can genuinely support a visa application.
Do I need a job offer before applying for a UK work visa?
Yes. For both the Skilled Worker visa and the Health and Care Worker visa you need a confirmed job offer from a licensed sponsor, plus a Certificate of Sponsorship reference number. You will also need to prove your English language ability (CEFR B1 or equivalent), show you can support yourself in the UK, and provide a valid TB test certificate if you are from a listed country. Some roles also require an overseas criminal record certificate.
How long does UK visa sponsorship take from offer to arrival?
Most candidates complete the process in 8 to 12 weeks. Once you accept an offer, the employer requests a Certificate of Sponsorship (1–2 weeks), you then apply online and attend a biometric appointment, and a standard visa decision takes up to 3 weeks from outside the UK (5 working days with priority processing). After the visa is granted, you can book travel and complete your employer's onboarding.
