Frequently asked questions
Do care homes in the UK sponsor overseas workers?
Yes. CQC-registered care homes holding a Home Office sponsor licence can sponsor senior care workers and care assistants on the Health and Care Worker visa, provided the salary meets the going rate for the occupation code.
What is the salary for a sponsored care home job in the UK?
Most sponsored care-home roles pay £23,200 to £29,000 per year, before night, weekend and bank-holiday enhancements. Senior care worker roles sit at the top of that band.
How much experience do I need for a care home job with sponsorship?
Employers usually look for at least six to twelve months of hands-on care experience, though strong candidates with a relevant qualification and supervised placement hours are also considered.
Is accommodation provided with sponsored care home jobs?
Some care groups provide or subsidise accommodation for the first weeks after arrival. We confirm what each employer offers before you accept an offer.
